Our Employment Programs & Services support you to become independent and effective in your job search. You begin by meeting with an Employment Specialist, who will help you create a special plan of action for your goals, needs, and situation. Your Employment Specialist will provide ongoing employment counselling and coaching, and recommend programs which will be most helpful to you.

Get Employment Training & Support

Job Search Workshops are customized to the needs of unemployed and underemployed newcomers. Participating in an effective job search and interview preparation process are essential steps on your road to employment. We provide practice interviews, professional mentorship and professional practice opportunities.

Employment Programs & Services will support you until you successfully enter the workforce in Nova Scotia in your field or occupation. The Job Search Resource Centre offers immediate support to help you create or modify your resume, fill in job application forms, modify your job search documents, or identify various online job search resources.

The Visible Minority Newcomer Women at Work program offers specialized self-confidence building and employment readiness training, and a chance to develop your occupation-specific essential skills portfolio.

The Facilitating Access to Skilled Talent (FAST) program helps you to become job ready through online self-assessment in trades, biotechnology and life science, and IT and data services.

Work in Your Field

We provide information about regulated professions in Nova Scotia. We also provide Profession-specific Bridging Programs for professionals working to get licensed and employed in their field. We have bridging programs for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, engineers, architects, accountants, and trades.

The Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund can provide you with the financial support you need to complete your credential recognition, prepare for licensure exams, or complete training.
