ISANS Launches Immigrant Business Marketplace App

In celebration of Small Business Week, ISANS has launched a new and innovative digital marketplace application that features immigrant businesses in Nova Scotia. The launch was part of Networking in Motion reception this week at the Halifax Central Library.

The Business Marketplace app will create a unique space for ISANS business clients to market their business and provide opportunities for engagement with other business owners. Over the course of the evening 38 business owners became Business Marketplace users - surpassing expectations for the night!

The event also showcased 10 immigrant businesses and 5 immigrant caterers, providing Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Cuban and European food. Every year, Networking in Motion provides an opportunity for participants to build their networks, connect with diverse businesses, sample amazing food and enter to win door prizes.

“Immigrants including refugees, are 30% more likely to start a business than non-immigrants. Immigrant business owners contribute to the Nova Scotia economy, employ other Nova Scotians and build a future for themselves and their families in Nova Scotia.” says Gerry Mills, Executive Director at ISANS.

We would like to thank Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) for providing funding and Curbza for bringing this project to life.
