We are very pleased to announce that the Minister of Immigration has officially approved our application to become a Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH) in the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program. This Federal Program allows SAH’s to work with individuals and groups to undertake the direct sponsorship of refugees still abroad. Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia will partner with refugees who are already settled in Nova Scotia along with other individuals and groups to guarantee the financial resources required to ensure the successful settlement of the sponsored refugee. It is a concrete way to engage the community in the humanitarian and compassionate work of assisting refugees in Nova Scotia be reunited with their families and loved ones. Becoming a SAH is an exciting new chapter in Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia’ history.
