Successful Project for Internationally Educated Engineers

On April 18, we hosted an event to celebrate a special project for internationally educated engineers (IEEs). The Worksite-based Competency Assessment Project gave ten IEEs the chance to work with local engineering firms for four months. During that time, they demonstrated their skills to these potential employers and carefully documented their competencies. For participants it was a big step forward and half were offered positions at the conclusion.

Engineers Nova Scotia and Engineers Canada were key partners, and the project was funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education. Plans are underway to continue this innovative project which has been nationally recognized by the International Qualifications Network.
