Diversify Your Workforce

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project (AIPP)

Interested in taking advantage of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project?

Skilled Workers & International Graduates

If you are a skilled worker or international student graduate who would like to permanently live in Atlantic Canada:

Step 1: You get a job offer by a designated employer in Atlantic Canada.

Step 2: Your potential employer helps you get ready to register for the pre-endorsement needs assessment and settlement plan by providing you with the required eligibility forms:

1) a copy of the completed job offer form used for this project (IMM5650)

2) a confirmation of designation letter

Step 3: You visit https://aipp.old.isans.ca to create an account and complete the registration. You will be required to upload the eligibility documents there.

Step 4: An ISANS Intake Counsellor contacts you with further instructions to book the needs assessment session.

Step 5:  The ISANS Intake Counsellor gives you the settlement plan for you to share with your potential employer.

Then you and your potential employer proceed to the endorsement stage.

Employers

If you are an Atlantic Employer already designated under this project and your potential employee(s) need a pre-endorsement settlement plan:

Step 1: You give your candidate(s) an offer of employment, using the appropriate job offer form for this project (IMM5650).

Step 2: You give your candidate(s) a copy of a confirmation of designation letter.

Step 3: You refer candidate(s) still outside Canada to https://aipp.old.isans.ca where they register with ISANS for a pre-endorsement needs assessment and settlement plan. (Note: candidates already in Nova Scotia may also be referred to this site, and candidates residing in other Atlantic provinces may be referred to a settlement service provider organization nearest the candidate’s future place of employment).

Step 4: Your candidate(s) meets with an ISANS Intake Counsellor for the needs assessment and sends you a copy of the resulting settlement plan.

Then you proceed to the endorsement application stage with the provincial office that designated you.

If you are an Atlantic Employer interested in becoming designated under this project:

Please visit the applicable provincial immigration office for instructions and guidance:

Important Note: Potential employers and employees must be mindful that there are other requirements that need to be met as part of candidates’ application for immigration under this project. Visit Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for these details.
