Get Settled in Nova Scotia

ISANS Settlement Services work with you to identify your settlement goals, and help you use your strengths and resources to determine your settlement needs. Based on your goals, settlement staff may provide:

  • orientation on topics related to life in Canada, including government programs, community resources, rights and responsibilities, the education system and family matters
  • problem solving for settlement challenges
  • links to essential services, including the Resettlement Assistance Program, Nova Scotia Health Program and Canadian Child Tax Benefit Program
  • links to other ISANS services, including Community Connections for recreation and social programs, Family Support program, employment services, English language programs, links to community services and programs
  • links to public school system recreation and social programs, including other settlement organizations, language assessment services, Regional Housing Authority, Community Services (Income Assistance), Immigrant, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) programs

To access our Settlement Services you must first go through intake and register as an ISANS client - contact us to register!

Access Support for Temporary Foreign Workers

We provide support for Temporary Foreign Workers and their families. Learn about which ISANS services are available to you, as well as information about Nova Scotia labour standards, housing, healthcare, and immigration.
