On July 17, we held a Build Your Business on the Tall Ship Silva networking event and it was a sold-out success! The purpose of the event was to provide our business clients – whether in the idea generation stage or having already established a business – the opportunity to network with the business community and community partners. Matt Whittman, City Councillor for district 13, was guest speaker. He spoke passionately about “It is more about connecting than just networking.” A theme that was embraced by everyone at the event, with much positive feedback. Build Your Business on the Tall Ship Silva provided an opportunity to connect with like-minded people for idea generation, connect the local businesses community to Immigrant Settlement & Integration Services Employer Support programs and services, and connect immigrant business owners to the Greater Halifax Partnership – our co-host for the event.
Also, attendees felt it was a true introduction to Nova Scotian hospitality – it was such a win-win situation we hope to make it an annual event!
