National Volunteer Week 2015

National Volunteer Week is a time to recognize, celebrate and thank Canada’s volunteers. This year National Volunteer Week takes place April 12-18.

PracticeInterview_002We depend on volunteers to help deliver many of our services. Volunteers help us create healthier, welcoming and more inclusive communities. We want to thank all those who donate their time and efforts to help us provide settlement services, English classes, employment and business training, and community programs. We couldn’t do it without you!

Some statistics from 2014:

  • 402 active volunteers
  • 18,414 volunteer hours!
  • 22% of volunteers are immigrants

Our volunteers have many roles: professional mentors, practice interviewers, classroom assistants, community connections volunteers, computer lab assistants, ASL classroom assistants, front desk assistants, special events volunteers, pro bono law students, guest speakers and bridging program assistants.

For more information on the volunteer roles at ISANS, visit our Get Involved page.

Thank you volunteers!
