Networking in Motion Immigrant Business Crawl for Small Business Week

We had a great turnout for our 3rd Annual Networking in Motion Immigrant Business Crawl in celebration of Small Business Week! Our business team, along with 30 tour participants, spent the afternoon discovering some of the immigrant businesses in downtown Halifax. Guided by ISANS Business Counsellors Georges Hanna and Ian MacGillivray, we divided into two groups and visited Baba Ghanouj Cafe, Volta Effect Labs, Sherzad’s Tailoring Shop, Maps & More, Choco Cafe and Kisserup International. We then met at the new Halifax Central Library for a networking reception. Participants, partners and members of the public were delighted with the venue, and as always the library staff were generous and inviting hosts. Refreshments were provided by some of ISANS business clients, like Chef Abod Café & Catering, Baba Ghanouj Cafe and Chocolates by Design. Attendees had the opportunity to make new contacts, share ideas and ask questions.

Special thanks to our partner Halifax Chamber of Commerce and to event sponsor Business Development Canada.

Thanks to everyone who participated and to the businesses for sharing their stories. Stay tuned for more photos!
