Remembering Rocky Jones

Rocky JonesImmigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia joins the whole community in expressing its deep sadness in the loss of Rocky Jones, tireless advocate for social justice in Nova Scotia. Rocky will be remembered as an outspoken champion of human and civil rights, an activist, as well as a role model, mentor and friend to many.

For over 40 years, Rocky was a respected and high-profile leader in the African Nova Scotian community. Rocky’s fight for equality and against racism has benefitted immigrants as well, in making Nova Scotia a more welcoming and inclusive community for everyone. In recognition of his dedication and hard work, he was named to the Order of Nova Scotia in 2010.

All of us at Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia offer our sincere condolences to Rocky’s family.
