Share Thanksgiving

Make new friends over cranberries & conversation.

Share Thanksgiving is an occasion for hosts to welcome a newcomer family or international student to Thanksgiving dinner. It is a unique opportunity for newcomers to experience a Nova Scotian custom and hospitality. Any which way you slice it, you will be enjoying your pumpkin pie with more people in your community who are eager to meet you.

Who should sign up?

Anyone! If you were a host before, we encourage you to register again and to tell a friend about your experience. If you were a guest last year, we encourage you to consider signing up as a host as well.

Where are hosts needed most?

International students love to take part in Share Thanksgiving, so if you live near a university or community college, especially Acadia or St. FX, we have a match for you!

We also have many families in metro Halifax looking to meet you. If you can host 1 more person at your table, or up to 9, please let us know.

Do I have to prepare a turkey dinner?

The menu for your meal is up to you. While turkey is traditional, if you prefer to make a vegan dinner, lasagne, or a family favourite dish, that is more than OK! Whatever you choose to serve, you can be confident that we can make a match for you.

Register Now!
