Stories from the Food Movement – How Community Gardens Support Newcomers

Heather Asbil, our Growing Strong Neighbourhoods Project Coordinator, shares how community gardens support newcomers and create a place of connection for people from different backgrounds.

Stories from the Food Movement depicts the forward momentum in gardens, communities, schools, policy forums and other arenas across Nova Scotia and South East New Brunswick, over a four-year period from 2012-2016. It connects the many people and projects working at various scales to the larger food movement. Everyone featured in these videos is connected to the work of the Our Food Project.
