We want to say thank you to the many volunteers who have donated their time and energy over the past few months with the Syrian Refugee Initiave. Here are some of the numbers for volunteer recruitment through our collaboration with 211 and the Canadian Red Cross:
- 925 individuals across Nova Scotia offered to volunteer through 211
- 460 replied to a volunteer survey distributed by the Canadian Red Cross
- 215 received a free criminal record check through HRM (fees waived for those wanting to volunteer with ISANS on the Syrian Refugee Response)
- 440 new volunteers have registered through ISANS and are active in volunteer roles
- 559 volunteers have been involved in the Syrian Refugee Initiative
